Our managing director has raised more than £1,300 after taking part in homeless charity Roundabout’s Sleepout event.
David Clarkson joined other participants in sleeping rough at CADS Works in Sheffield city centre, raising £1,345 for the charity in the process.
It is the second time this year David has taken part in the event, after he raised £2,290 by taking part in April’s ‘Sleep United’ at Bramall Lane.
As one of our chosen charities, we carry Roundabout’s logo on a number of our trucks, and over the years we have participated in many fundraising events for the charity.
After the event, which has raised close to £15,000 in total so far, David said: “DBL Logistics is a very proud supporter of Roundabout, and we pride ourselves on giving as much back to the local community as possible.
“The Sleepout is always a challenge but it does a great job in raising awareness of the issue.
“It gives people a brief insight into how hard sleeping rough is – and countless people across the region do it, night after night.
“Fantastic charities such as Roundabout help to combat the issue and are doing a sterling job – I’m only too happy to continue supporting them in the great work they do.”
Ruth Gage, Fundraising and Communications Manager at Roundabout, said: “We are extremely grateful to the continued support from DBL Logistics.
“The £3,500 David has raised in two Sleepout events alone is really impressive and will make a huge difference to the young people we support. They also provided the card for participants to sleep on which made organising the event that little bit smoother.”
