Sam The Sensation’s shot at glory confirmed
Wednesday, 20th December 2017
We’re delighted by news that our sponsored professional boxer, Sam ‘The Sensation’ O’Maison will be fighting for the English light welterweight title in early 2018, following confirmation of his opponent.

The Waverley-based light welterweight will face Jeff Saunders, of County Durham, date & venue TBC. Sam will be looking to respond after an unfortunate defeat against Luca Giacon in his IBF International Super Lightweight Title in Malaga earlier in 2017.

Naturally, we’re right behind Sam and, along with his coach, Ryan Rhodes, we fully believe that his time will come in 2018, starting with a shot at the English title against Saunders.

Our managing director, David Clarkson, said: “It’s brilliant to see that Sam's shot at glory has been confirmed. On paper it looks a good match-up, with two talented fighters facing off for a major title.

"Sam hasn't let that unfortunate loss earlier this year affect him - he'll come flying out the blocks in 2018. He asserted himself well against a difficult opponent in Malaga in his last fight and was extremely impressive – he was desperately unlucky not to have taken it the distance.

“But that’s boxing for you – and Sam has shown the kind of mettle that true champions are made of to bounce straight back into the ring.”
