Bert Clarkson
Founder and Operations Director
Bert started the business with wife Linda Clarkson in the 1980s, distributing white goods and parcels to private houses across Yorkshire. 
His son David joined the business to complete the initials DBL, as the company became an independent operation after moving into palletised freight deliveries.
Bert became operations director in 1998 and continues in that role today, playing an integral role in the development of DBL Logistics and the company’s relocation to the Huntsman Depot on Tinsley Park Road, Sheffield.

 David Clarkson
 Managing Director
David took over from his father Bert as Managing Director in 1998, by which time he had almost two decades of experience within the logistics industry.
He helped establish DBL Logistics as a leading depot within the United Pallet Network (UPN), before becoming a key member of the Pallex network. Leading the team to national success, culminating in being awarded Sales Depot of the Year and Depots’ Depot of the Year at the UPN Annual Member Awards in 2013, and New Depot of the Year 2018 at the annual Pallex awards. 

Along with his father, David spearheaded the creation of the company’s first independently owned building with the Huntsman Depot.

Earl Robinson
Sales Director
Earl joined DBL Logistics in 2007 as Sales and Marketing Manager, becoming Sales Director in 2012.
He has played an instrumental role in growing DBL Logistics' sales with key clients across the Sheffield City Region through a holistic approach to customer service.

Earl is a key member of the company’s management team and is responsible for the overall brand and public profile of the business.
Earl’s work enabled DBL Logistics to achieve a new UPN daily volume record, when the company inputted 634 pallets into the network in a single evening during February 2013.  This almost doubled the previous record, originally set in 2010.


 Adam Boyd
 Operations Director
 Adam joined us in January 2017 after serving in the Army’s Royal Logistics Corps from 2007-2012, spending six months in Afghanistan  during 2009.

 Following his stint with the armed forces, Adam joined Steinhoff UK, receiving three promotions in three years to progress to the role   of Transport Manager. He then moved to DBL, and since joining has progressed in his role with us, too - making the step up from Operations, Transport and Health & Safety Manager to Operations Director in January 2018.

Adam has played an integral role in our development with the Pallex network, culminating in DBL being awarded New Depot of the Year at the 2018 Annual Pallex awards.

Accounts and Finance

 Paula Greaves
 Accounts Management

 Paula works with Daisy to ensure the invoicing process is running smoothly, checking for any discrepancies on the prices of your jobs.   Palua's experience in accounts and finance makes her an invaluable member of our team, able to deal with any issues rasied during the         invoicing period.

 Paula has been with us since 2013, her knowledge of the business and attention to detail when it comes to spotting the small errors make her a crucial member of team DBL.

 Daisy Ryall
 Accounts Management

 Daisy joined us in 2015 as an apprentice Junior Accounts Assistant and successfully completed her apprenticeship programme, even being   nominated for the North Midlands and South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards 2017 in the process.

 Daisy is an integral part of our accounts team, overlooking the invoicing process and dealing with any of your invoice queries. Everything from credits to payments, Daisy ensures everything is in place for the smoothest possible invoicing procedure.

Customer Services

Pauline Semple
Customer Service Manager
Pauline joined us in 2015, bringing a wealth of valuable experience in customer services. Immediately becoming an integral part of our team, Pauline is now the first port of call for all customer enquiries.

Everything from insurance claims to issues with deliveries, Pauline is an assured, friendly voice for customers no matter the issue, offering the reassurance that your goods are in safe hands throughout their journey with us.

In the inevitable scenario that something does go wrong, Pauline has the nous to come to a happy medium for you, your customer and the depots in the network.

 Cheryl Pilkington
 Customer Services

 Cheryl is one of our longest serving members of staff, with experience in almost all sectors of the company. Working with Pauline in customer   services, Cheryl deals with customer's problems, working to find a resolve that suits all parties.

 Cheryl also handles customer's paperwork, ensuring that all goods are sent with your documents enclosed on the consignment, as well as chasing PODs for you should there be any discrepancies on the uploaded paperwork once a delivery has been made.

With so much experience at DBL Logistics, Cheryl is an invaluable member of the team, able to find solutions to the most difficult of problems.

Traffic Team

 Lee Smith 
 Traffic Manager
Lee began his time with DBL Logistics in April 2016, taking his first step in the world of logistics. Previously, Lee worked in catering and hospitality for 30 years where he gained experience in customer relations, sales and management.

Managing the traffic office team, Lee works directly with customers, depots and colleagues to ensure an efficient process from initial delivery input right through to invoicing.

 Joel Cooke
 Traffic Coordinator

 Joel joined us in 2015 as an apprentice in Business and Administration. After successfully completing his apprenticeship programme, Joel has become a key member of our traffic team.

 Primarily responsible for organising our drivers so they meet collection and delivery times, Joel liaises with customers, drivers and other depots to ensure everything is running smoothly. Joel played a vital part in a successful 2018 for DBL Logistics in the Pallex network.

 Jonathan Pilgrim
 Traffic Coordinator

 Jonny started in his role in 2018 and has immediately established himself as an integral part of the transport team. Jonny works with Joel to ensure we meet collection and delivery times.

With years of experience in the logistics industry, Jonny has proved to be an excellent addition to our dedicated team, and has no doubt played a significant role in our successes in the Pallex network.



 Callum Wombwell 
 Warehouse Manager

Callum joined us in 2017 and after proving he was more than capable when dealing with the daily demands of the warehouse, Callum was promoted to Warehouse Manager following the retirement of long-serving manager David Walker in 2018.

Callum manages our warehouse team throughout their daily workload; loading and unloading vehicles, keeping our storage stock-checks up to date, and ensuring that our pick and pack service is accurate and efficient.

Callum liaises with his staff, our customers, and the traffic team to ensure everything is running smoothly whilst your goods are with us.
