Sam O'Maison sponsorship

We continue to back one of Sheffield's most promising young sportsmen by sponsoring professional boxer Sam ‘The Sensation’ O’Maison.

The 24-year-old, who turned professional in 2012, boasts a record of 13 wins, six by KO, and only one defeat.

We have backed Sam for a number of years by supporting him with travel and training expenses and we've been proud to watch his career develop and we're excited to see what the future holds under the guidance of Ryan Rhodes.

The Walkley light superweight
is now looking to compete for a British title in the near future after successfully defending his British Classic Challenge belt.

Sam, who trains at Ryan Rhodes’ 26RR Fitness on London Road, said: “I’m overwhelmed by the continued support of DBL Logistics and extremely grateful to have them on board for another year. For a young boxer such as myself, the support of sponsors is absolutely vital.

“Since I made the move to Ryan Rhodes’ gym I have felt a new found energy and I’m just excited to really kick on now and push towards a British title next year. I’m on weight and feeling fit, strong and ready. I can’t wait.”

Ryan Rhodes said: “I could see straight away that Sam was a talented fighter when he joined our team eight months ago. I’d heard of him, but hadn’t realised just ‘how good’ he was.

“Since working with him we’ve just wanted to fine tune his natural ability, rather than change his style.

“So many people have the wrong idea about boxing, they think that they get paid big money, when in fact most fighters maintain a full-time job whilst training, or are fortunate enough to have a sponsor like DBL Logistics which is a massive help and allows fighters to remain focused on the job in hand.

“Sam is a great down to earth guy and I predict that he will have a bright future in the sport. He’s a great role model for the kids and everyone down at 26RR Fitness and I'm confident that he can go on to win big titles.”

Our managing director David Clarkson said: “As a local firm, we are committed to supporting Sheffield sport in any way.

“It gives us great pleasure to support one of the city’s most promising boxers and we look forward to seeing Sam develop into one of the country’s top talents.

“We want to be there every step of the way to help him achieve that.”
